The spool is okay, it is hard to keep the line from jamming. I'm okay with that. The bump knob is another thing. the thin layer of plastic on the edge allows the end to wear out rather quickly. No reason that it couldn't be much thicker, it was designed to wear out in about a season. Solution: get a 3/4" dowel and work it down a bit so that it will fit in the hole tightly. Then cut the end off so 1/3" is protruding. When it wears down, just drill a hole and put a very large screw in there and pull it out. Replace and you'll have a bump knob that lasts for years.
