
Solution: get a 3/4" dowel and work it down a bit so that it will fit in the hole tightly. Then cut the end off so 1/3" is protruding. When it wears down, just drill a hole and put a very large screw in there and pull it out. Replace and you'll have a bump knob that lasts for years.
