We were thrilled to get our new pool cover. It was so light weight and easy to put on and take off of our pool. The fasteners were great. We were very pleased. But, alas, after using it for maybe a month and a half, the tarp material started to break down. I don't know if the sun caused it, if the chemicals caused it (we use Baquacil), or what. It seems to me like it didn't hold up very well under sun exposure. And we're at the 45th parallel, so not as strong a sun exposure as some would have.The cover started tearing and now when we handle it, after 2 months, it is literally like handling tissue paper and the cover tears very easily. It was a good idea, but didn't even last 2 months, so it has been very disappointing!!! I would not recommend this product.
I hope Intex can create a good cover for our pool. The one that came with it was a lot bulkier and hard to handle, plus the middle would sink when it got water on it or it rained. After the first year, it was starting to tear, also.
Please Intex, come up with a quality cover. Make it worth our while to spend $60 on a cover.
