Over the winter I moved into a new home that included a pool which was already closed for the year. Not being a "pool guy" I purchased an extended warranty just in case. Recently opened the pool and the 10 year old hand me down filter was really showing its age. It had the old bags inside & the inner housing was cracked & leaking. It definitely was not doing its job. I had it replaced under warranty with the Hayward EC40. This model has the rods inside replacing the bags for higher performance and easier cleaning. The pool company charged $350 for the filter plus another $200 for the service call & installation to the warranty company. Sweet!! What a difference. Within just a few hours the pool was crystal clear. This is a heavy duty filter built in the USA that works as advertised, not some piece of crap made in China.
